Charlotte, North Carolina: Amicus.io, a fintech platform designed to make donor-advised funds (DAFs) more accessible, raised $8.7 million in Series B funding. Read more about the team, the platform, and the funding here.
Lawrenceville, Georgia: Audality, a consumer technology company focused on audio equipment, raised a $493,750 seed round. Hypepotamus has a Q&A with the President of Audality up here.
Atlanta, Georgia: Vennfi, the fintech company behind Atlanta’s Charityvest, raised an additional $2.3 million in seed funding, according to a statement. Hypepotamus interviewed the Charityvest team over the summer to learn more about how they are transforming how individuals can become philanthropists.
Fairfax, Virginia: MarginEdge, an analytics and tracking platform for the food/beverage industry, raised $4 million from Philadelphia-based Oseage Venture Partners, according to a statement released from the company.
Peachtree City, Georgia‘s Bluestone Payments has been acquired by payment processor Payroc. Bluestone

Atlanta-based electronic signature platform Assuresign announced Matthew Smith is stepping up as CFO. Smith was previously VP of finance. In a press release, AssureSign’s CEO David Brinkman said, “Matt has been critical in procuring investment funding,” said David Brinkman, President & CEO at AssureSign. “He is a vital asset to our organization, and with Matt leading our finance division, I’m enthusiastic for AssureSign’s future.”
